About Us

It’s time for the 2008, 18th Annual Dog Jog! Join us in this mutt-nificent event that helps homeless dogs and cats in central Ohio.  CHA Animal Shelter is dedicated to ending pet overpopulation through public awareness, spay, neuter, and owner education.  We have been placing homeless pets with loving fur-ever homes since 1975.

Sadly, hundreds of homeless, abandoned and rescued pets in need come through the door at CHA each year.  They receive the best possible medical care and behavioral treatment. With the help of people like you, we can continue to maintain our loving tradition and expand our programs.  At CHA we know that mental health is as important as the physical health of our pets. We use a large variety of tools such as special toys, play groups, obedience training and off-site outings to help maintain mental stimulation and decrease boredom of our pets.

One of our on-going projects has been our spay/neuter room.   Finally this year, we were able to open an in-house surgical room which will save us thousands of dollars a year.  This was a project made possible through public donations and events like “CHA Dog Jog”.  One of our many goals for 2008 is to expand our spay/neuter surgical suite to help other non-profit shelters and rescue organizations in our area.

Thank you on behalf of the animals, volunteers and staff at CHA Animal Shelter!
