Join us at CHA Animal Shelter's  cornerstone fundraiser, the Dog Jog, to be held once again at Nationwide Arena in downtown Columbus on Saturday, August 23rd.  The event is a 5K Race, along with a 1 Mile Fun Walk as well. 

Countless studies have shown that owning an animal is a healthy choice in life.  Some of this research has suggested that pets help lower blood pressure and cholesterol, help prevent minor illnesses, expediting recovery and even warning of cancer, heart attacks and epileptic seizures. Not to mention they provide us with unconditional love, no matter who we are or what we do.   So isn't it time we celebrate our pets and return the favor? 
       
Come to the Dog Jog ready to enjoy some healthy exercise with your favorite pup or one of ours! That’s right, you can “rent” a CHA Dog for the race if you don’t have one of your own! Maybe you’ll meet a new, furry forever friend there.  Even if you don't own an animal, come by and enjoy the exercise and support a great cause as well!

Stick around after the race to visit our first Family Health Fair, a free event following the race highlighting various vendors, services, information and games related to the health of you and your pet.  Need a massage?  Does your dog?  You can take care of both in the same day!

Schedule:

8:30 am - Registration at Battelle Plaza (corner of Nationwide Blvd and Front St)

9:30 am - Race and Fun Walk (see map for routes)

10 am to 1 pm - Family Health Fair at Battelle Plaza

Cost to participate in the race is $25 per person.  The Family Health Fair is free to attend.  The race fee and any donation you might make will all benefit the cats and dogs of CHA Animal Shelter, and are tax-deductible contributions.  Consider collecting pledges from friends, family and coworkers for the race.  Click on the Firstgiving button to the right to create your own online fundraising site where others can donate! 

CHA Animal Shelter is a 501c3 non-profit animal shelter dedicated to finding homes for homeless, abandoned and rescued animals in central Ohio, and we can continue to improve the lives of so many animals in need with the help of people like you.  Come one, come all!
